Converting is where most hook and loop goes wrong
Slitting, coating, die-cutting, sewing and packing each change the tolerance. We qualify them separately and write the result into the specification.
Six processes, one tolerance sheet
Every process below is qualified against a drawing before it is offered as standard.
Slitting
Rolls cut to width, wound under controlled tension.
- 10–150 mm, ±0.5 mm on widths above 25 mm
- Ultrasonic or hot-knife edge to stop fraying
- Spools, pancakes or traverse-wound rolls
Adhesive coating
Rubber, acrylic or hot-melt, with the liner matched to your process.
- Peel adhesion tested on your actual substrate
- Liner: paper, film or release-coated fabric
- Service temperature stated on the spec, not assumed
Die-cutting
Tabs, discs, rectangles, gaskets and shaped closures.
- Rotary and flatbed cutting, ±0.3 mm
- Kiss-cut to liner, or through-cut
- Steel rule dies kept for repeat orders
Sewing & assembly
Straps, cuffs, braces and multi-part closures assembled before packing.
- Bar-tack and box-X reinforcement
- Welded seams for coated and TPU-backed tape
- Hardware, buckles and D-rings sourced to drawing
Colour matching
Stock shades for speed, Pantone matching for programmes.
- 30+ stock shades in polyester
- Lab-dip approval before bulk dyeing
- Batch-to-batch ΔE recorded
Packing & labelling
Retail-ready or bulk, with the labelling your customer's audit expects.
- Polybag, header card, hangtag, shrink pack
- Barcode, care label and country of origin
- Carton marks and pallet configuration to order
What we can hold
Numbers here are production tolerances, not laboratory bests.
| Process | Options | Tolerance |
|---|---|---|
| Slitting width | 10–150 mm | ±0.5 mm above 25 mm |
| Die-cut tolerance | Rotary / flatbed | ±0.3 mm |
| Adhesive coat weight | Rubber / acrylic / hot-melt | Set per substrate |
| Roll length | 25 m / 50 m / custom | ±1 % |
| Colour | Stock / Pantone | Lab-dip approved |
| Packing | Bulk / retail | To your audit standard |
Anything outside this table is quoted case by case, with the risk stated in writing.
Five tests we report, not five badges we display
Test methods are agreed before the first shipment. Reports go out with the goods, not after a complaint.
- 1Peel strengthMeasured at 180° on the agreed substrate, before and after five open/close cycles.
- 2Shear strengthStatic load held for a set time; reported as the load at failure, not a pass/fail.
- 3Cycle lifeRepeated closure to the count your application needs — 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000.
- 4Width and thicknessMeasured at three points per roll; out-of-tolerance rolls are held, not shipped.
- 5Colour fastnessWash, rub and light fastness to the standard your market requires.
Coated, lined, die-cutDocumentation, not decoration.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and REACH documentation are available for skin-contact and garment programmes, matched to the construction you are buying.
Five steps, no surprises
Brief
Width, colour, backing, quantity, end use and a drawing if you have one.
Material proposal
We name the grade and the adhesive, and say what we would not use.
Sample
A physical sample against your approval criteria, not a catalogue photo.
Production
Produced to the approved sample; any change needs a new approval.
Inspection & ship
AQL inspection, packing list and documents before the container closes.
What leaves the converting line
Slit rolls, coated roll goods, die-cut tabs, assembled straps and retail-packed sets — all from the same specification sheet.
What buyers ask before the first order
What is your minimum order quantity?
MOQ is set per material, width and converting step, and is confirmed with your quotation. Sampling is possible before a production order, so you can approve a physical part rather than a rendering.
Can you match a colour?
Yes. Send a Pantone reference or a physical swatch and we match to it. Dyed lots are checked against the approved swatch, and the minimum run per colour is confirmed on quotation.
Which adhesive should I choose?
Acrylic for long-term outdoor and UV exposure, hot-melt for high initial tack on paper and board, rubber for low-surface-energy plastics. We test on your actual substrate before production.
How fast can you send samples?
Sample lead time is confirmed when we quote. It depends on whether the item is a stock construction or a new die, and on whether the colour has to be dyed to match. Samples are shipped worldwide; sample cost and freight are quoted with the specification.
Send the drawing. We will tell you what will fail.
Width, colour, backing, quantity and the surface it has to stick to — that is enough to start.
